2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

What's your source on the cab redesign for 23? Sounds like an unverified rumor. And this year they keep pulling tech off trims because of the lack of microchips, why would they be developing/integrating new technology when they cant even supply the current specs?
Agreed, just like the prevalent and seemingly patently false rumor about Allison's on the HO's.

Given the issues with the global supply chain, etc. I'd bet more on significant changes in 2024-5. But that's me.

The crystal ball of tech (I'm in supply chain of a large multi-national tech company buried in the component shortages and allocation reviews) says that Q1 will be similar to now, but will start easing up Q2 with much better supply 2nd half '22. You do not hold R&D due to existing constraints, but you may need to mothball rollout if continuity of supply cannot be sustained.

Man... the shine has worn off my "new truck" giddiness. Since May I would read this page multiple times a day for updates and news. At this point, after a weekend I don't even bother trying to catch up anymore. Just skip 10-15 pages forward and skim some posts, then go on about my day. Seriously no longer "excited" about getting a new truck...now it's more like "I hope my truck eventually arrives...sigh."
This is my first Ram/Dodge ever and I'm already disappointed. Good job Ram...

I did a ramchat this morning and they verified that the Saltillo plant is closed today and also stated that the shut down is only going to last a week.
I questioned if this would affect my build date/ship date, I was told that it would not.
I only believe 1 thing from this chat today and that is that the plant is closed today. I dont believe the rest of it.

Once it's arrival date draws nearer or when it does arrives you'll have that kid with a new toy feeling again. I'm kidda the same. I know when it gets here I'll be excited for it. Although the older I get the less I get excited about materialistic things. BUT I STILL CAN"T WAIT! Haha!

Just heard from my dealer I am back to D1 status with a ship date of 10-26. If that holds true how long does it take on average from the ship date to dealer delivery? I am in SC.

Oof. My ship date is 15 Oct and I was told to expect it in mid Nov. Mine is going to Lake Charles, LA. So....maybe two months?

Based on the build dates on window stickers, I am nearly certain the plant was shut down last week. So if it is still shut down today, they are starting week two of the shut down.

Ram Chat can't be trusted

OK, here is an update. First I have been on RAM Chat multiple times. They finally got back to me with an answer, "Talk with your dealer about specific delivery dates". Of course the reason I went to RAM Chat was because the dealer couldn't tell me anything. That said, the dealer is guessing that due to the plant shut downs, all the people responsible for shipping are now home sitting on their couches watching MASH re-runs. In the meantime, my completed truck is sitting in some parking lot in Lordstown OH and has been for about 4 weeks. They are assuming that once those people come back to work in October then it will get shipped to the dealer. So I guess the RAM wisdom was that we will shut down the plants to save money because we cant get chips. What they forgot was they also cant make money if the completed products are not making it to the customer. Arrrrggggghhhh. Not real pleased!!!!

I'm fairly certain that when a plant "shuts down" this is referring to the production only. There are still many employees working at the plant despite the shut down. When it comes to shipping cars, RAM contracts all of this out so vehicles should still be moving throughout the shut down.

Finally heard back from dealer
I’m in D status
Vin# 3c63r3bl5ng176161
Ordered it on 9/7

That can’t be a 9/7 VIN. Your dealer probably put in your order later then 9/7.

3C6UR5NL9NG161545 this is a 9/6 order vin. Doubt there was nearly 15k trucks ordered in 1 day.
Ask your dealer for a POC. It’ll say when the order was placed.

Woah your right, I just got the POC, they didn’t order until 9/20. I put my deposit down the 9/7 and everything else.

I messaged stelantis on fb and asked the same thing. They alluded that the shut down was implemented in the schedule so any schedule date you have should hold. Fingers crossed

The window stickers dont always match the official born on date on the truck.
Good to know. Is that date *supposed* to represent the born on date? Build completion date? Something else?

After running a update I actually do see some from last week. My data is partial, but here's what I currently have:
