2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Ehhh ... it's only a few weeks anyway and I ordered less than a week ago. Her CS and response time has been exceptional. If I don't hear from her by mid September then I will email her.

I have a take home car for work and still have a reliable high mileage Chevy Suburban that I'll sell once I start making plans to either ship the Mega home or fly one way and road trip back. Good Times!

Edit: Added my build info and VIN to the tracking thread.
No doubt she’s probably the best sales person I’ve dealt with. Congrats on your order!

I have owned smaller diesels (Please do not laugh but Ram ecodiesel and passat TDI) in the past and the price difference in fuel is realized if you tow heavy. You are going to burn way more fuel towing say 11K with a gas 2500 vs cummins 2500. @30 cents difference you are talking about $3.00 per 10 gallons.
Diesel is 16 cents a gallon cheaper than regular gasoline right now where I live in western Colorado.

Same here, I went mega cab 3500 but sometimes wish I would have gone with the long bed. I ordered a custom 48 foot race trailer with living quarters and I know it will be somewhat of a challenge maneuvering her in tight spaces. Would be awesome if ram offered a longer bed with the mega cab and larger fuel tank.
Nothing a slider hitch and a Titan 50 gal tank can’t fix. It’s annoying that you can’t order a 50 gal for a Mega Cab from the factory.

Agreed. I wanted to go with CC for the long bed and 50 gallon tank, but my wife and kids nixed that as soon as we test drove a mega cab.

Anyone know what the 4ZB is? There are two things listed in the Rambox package and I’m curious who the “vendor” is, what’s being painted, and can I control the color?

RamBox Cargo Management System
- Vendor Painted Cargo Box Tracking (4ZB)
- LED Bed Lighting

Usually once the truck is built it goes to a "Body Vendor" to have certain items installed. Its usually a team that all they do is install certain options. Yours might be painted ahead of time (same time as the cab of the truck) and then install the LED lights after the build. Once complete the window sticker will be available and the truck will be ready to ship once its released from the factory....pending any QA/QC inspections. I know for example my 2020 JGC Trailhawk had to go to a body vendor once it was built to have the Rock Rails installed. I'm not sure its a contractor or if its other FCA/Ram employees who install these.

EDIT: @mxsnow might be able to answer this much better?

Wish I could answer that better, with everyone working from home its hard to get and answer from anybody and my access to that is limited. I am sure the box is done at the stamping plant for the 5th wheel mods. If anything does get shipped to a vendor for anything it wouldn't be to far from the plant due to Saltillos location. Factory parts would be installed on site at the body shop, steps usually have to be put on after the body drop.

Any dealers on here that could look up VIN: 3C63R3PL3NG121717? My sales will not get back to me (I reached out a few days ago and not a peep)

Getting a service done on my 2020 1500 at the dealership, they had a 2020 Limited 2500 with a sunroof. I was able to hop in and see the limited head space I’ve heard about. Definitely less head room than my 5th gen 1500 but not much. It’s nothing that will bother me anyway.
Does anyone who bought from Mark Dodge know how far (mileage wise) they’ll deliver for free? I’m thinking about asking them to drive it north as far as the can and I’ll come south the rest of the way to trade my truck in. I would save a lot on PA sales tax that way.

Mark Dodge told me 250 miles free delivery. I always thought you’ll pay sales tax for the state you register the vehicle in regardless of where you buy it.

You will, but id pay tax on the difference between my trade in value and the new truck vs tax on the entire price of the new truck.

My dealer was trying to explain that to me when we briefly talked about my trade vs me selling it private party and I still don’t understand that.

Big Horn Vin 3C6UR5DJ3NG103057 ordered 5/27. As of today Ram still says its in the gathering parts stage.

Mxsnow, did you make your contact that you posted about yesterday? Pls post if you learn of any 22 cosmetic changes. Thanks in advance.

Thanks to this thread we ordered a new build from Sandi at Mark Dodge on 7/30. 2022 2500 Laramie Crew Cab 4WD, Hemi, Level A. Last 8 of VIN: NG138144

Hi all new to the site and RAM HDs though I have owned a couple of 1500s over the past 15 years.
Read this entire thread and thanks everyone for all the info Getting ready to order this:

D28R91 3500 LONGHORN CREW CAB 4X4 (149 IN W8 6 FT 4 IN Box)

2GK Customer Preferred Package 2GK
ESB 6.4L V8 Heavy Duty HEMI MDS Engine
DFX 8-Spd Auto 8HP75—LCV Transmission

PWQ Pearl White
APD Lower Two Tone Paint
QUW RV Match Walnut Brown Metallic CC
*XJ Premium Filigree Leather Seats
-N6 Mountain Brown/Lt. Mountain Brown

AAU Safety Group
SJE Adaptive Steering System
MDA Front License Plate Bracket
XBQ RamBox Cargo Management System
XH7 Tow-Mode Camera (Wired)
AM8 RamBox Utility Group

I would like the fixed (not powered) wheel to wheel side steps.
But when the dealer tries to add them the Longhorn Level 1 Equipment Group is added which includes the power running boards.

So it seems impossible to get fixed side steps. I also am not sure why the SJE Adaptive Steering System is called out separately with a $300 charge when it is supposed to be included in the safety group.
Of course my dealer is making no effort to find out what the heck is going on. Anyone run into this?

You will still be paying PA sales tax.
Yes, but I will pay pa sales tax on the difference ($15,000) if I trade in or I’ll pay tax on the full truck amount ($59,000) if I sell and buy the new truck out right.

Correct. Most states just charge on the total sales price and allow trade-ins to count against that sales price. You just need to weigh the sales tax savings (59k-your trade) vs how much more you’ll private party your truck for.
For me, I sold it for 6k more than a dealer would trade in…which made up for the $2,100 in tax savings.
